Introduction.
Our SMS (Short Message Service) system has been developed to provide an easy, reliable
and cost effective way to send mobile Text Messages from a PC.
Initially developed for use in our own software applications, we have had several
enquiries asking if we could provide the service to other people as either a standalone
PC based message system, or for integration into their existing programs.
As a result we are currently putting the finishing touches to 2 new products;
EaziSMS Desktop and eaziSMS Developer.
Some typical uses include Customer notifications - "your car is ready for collection",
as an alternative to paging staff - "Please contact the sales office", or for General
Reminders, News, and Announcements.
EaziSMS Desktop is a simple program that, once installed, allows
you to send text messages direct from your PC to a mobile phone. This is great for
anyone who wants to send a message but doesn't need the facility to receive (Although
you can specify that replies are routed to your actual mobile phone).
The benefits of eaziSMS Desktop include;
- Quicker and easier to type a message on a keyboard than via a mobile. (Particularly
useful for people with a visual impairment or that have difficulty manipulating
small mobile buttons.)
- Cost effective - next to email, which is not always an option, text messaging is
an extremely cost effective alternative to a personal call by the time you have
added your labour time/cost to the call charges.
- Easy to monitor sent messages to combat staff misuse.
eaziSMS Developer is a simple .Net Web-Service that can be called
from either PC or Web based applications. It exposes 2 Public methods; the first
providing user authentication and account credit balance functions, and the second
providing the actual message transmission.
Both eaziSMS Desktop and Developer operate on a pay-as-you-go basis. You purchase
blocks of credit and the system lets you know when you are getting close to your
specified re-order level.
You can have multiple users assigned to your account and our gateways detailed logging
system provides a usage statement so you can track who sent what to who and when.
These systems are scheduled for launch in quarter 3 of 2009, but in the meantime if you
